Based in Düsseldorf. I represent private plantations, MIDROC/Horizon and exporters for German roasteries — with lot-level traceability.
Behind every outstanding specialty coffee lies a chain of unwavering trust. For European roasteries, the biggest challenge is the geographic and cultural distance to the origin. My name is Omar. As an independent representative for private estates and MIDROC/Horizon based in Düsseldorf, I close exactly this gap.
For me, coffee is more than just a drink — it is my life, my origin, and my identity. I grew up in Addis Ababa, in Merkato's 'Bunna Tera' — the heart of the Ethiopian coffee trade. By age 7, I was in my father's shop daily, learning the secrets of the bean. Years later, I linked this deep origin knowledge with German precision through my commercial training at leading retailers like EDEKA and REWE.
"For me, coffee is not a commodity, but a philosophy of life. Since the age of seven in Bunna Tera, I have been learning its secrets — today I bring this expertise with German commercial precision to your roastery."

The journey of Arabica coffee began with two legendary mothers: Typica and Bourbon. Yet, the thousands of wild varieties in Ethiopia — known as Heirloom — remain the ultimate source of diversity.
While other nations plant lab-bred clones, Ethiopia is home to thousands of wild varieties. These naturally occurring species are collectively called 'Heirloom'.
A single farm can host hundreds of genetic variants. This results in the world-class notes of jasmine, bright citrus, and tea-like elegance.
The first base of Arabica. Stolen from Yemen by the Dutch to Indonesia, then to the Caribbean. Almost all global coffee originated from this single plant.
Tall trees, low yield. It is highly sensitive but produces an incredibly clean, sweet profile with refined acidity. The base of Blue Mountain coffee.
In the early 1700s, French traders took Yemen plants to Bourbon Island (Réunion). The plant mutated there, becoming a more productive variety.
Known for very high natural sugar content. Expect complex chocolate, caramel, and a rich, heavy body. Cherries can be red, yellow, or orange.
Originating from Gori Gesha in Bench Maji, Ethiopia. It traveled to Panama where its potential exploded. Now the world's most expensive variety.
Unlike any other coffee. It is intensely aromatic — like a perfume made of peach, jasmine, and Bergamot. Rare and highly prestigious.
Science meets Nature: Over decades, Typica and Bourbon have crossed to create resilient, high-yield varieties for farmers worldwide.
A dwarf mutation of Bourbon. Easy to pick, high yield.
Known as 'Elephant Beans'. Massive seeds and deep profile.
A mix of Caturra and Mundo Novo. Strong and weather-resistant.
"Advanced Variety Guide: When you see '100% Arabica' on a pack, it's generic. When you see 'Variety: Geisha' or 'Heirloom', you know you've found a masterpiece."
Each region carries its own terroir, varietals and processing tradition. We help you find the lot that matches your roastery's profile.
Every partner roastery gets transparent access to their projects — from farm visits to export readiness.
Each processing method unlocks a different potential within the coffee cherry. We oversee every step at our partner stations.
Emphasis on clarity, bright acidity, and a clean floral profile. The pulp is completely removed before drying.
Dry processing. The whole cherry dries in the sun, imparting heavy body, intense sweetness, and berry notes.
Semi-dry processing. Part of the mucilage remains on the bean, resulting in a unique creamy sweetness.
